Grifols agrees to acquire a 517,000 sq ft plot of land to expand its production facilities in Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona, July 22, 2016 – Grifols (MCE: GRF, MCE: GRF.P and NASDAQ: GRFS) has signed an agreement to acquire a 517,000 sq ft plot of land in the Barcelona's municipality of Lliçà de Vall. The site is located in the area of Can Gurri, adjacent to the Llevant Industrial Park in Parets del Vallès, where part of the Grifols production facilities are currently located. Both sites will become a sole industrial park.

The development works of this new industrial park are scheduled for 2018 and its full completion is expected in 2019.

This acquisition is included in the Euros 1.200 million Capital Investment Plan (CAPEX) for the period 2016-2020. With this operation, the company wants to secure its future growth capacity, ensuring long-term availability of sufficient space to expand its industrial facilities.

This acquisition evidences Grifols' strategic capabilities to anticipate production facilities that will be needed to continue meeting its organic growth. It also reinforces its commitment to Spain, as a recipient country of Grifols investments.
